Sometimes, as a photographer, I can be shooting on assignment for an advertising client, and just can't resist grabbing a spontaneous photograph that just happens in the process. Sometimes these can be some fun pictures. Sometimes the client likes the spontaneous photography better than the carefully art-directed shots.

The client ended up liking this type of shot better, though, in keeping with their corporate banking theme:
advertising photography brooklyn bridge
As you can see, this was shot on the Brooklyn Bridge. We got lucky with the weather in March in New York, and this day was perfect for photography. This was part of a two week advertising shoot in New York and Chicago for an international bank based in the UK. The logistical details of coordinating such a large location photography production can be fairly complicated. Some of the details that go into a photograph like this include location scouting, location permits, casting, wardrobe, staging area near the bridge for the model changing and for the hair and makeup stylists to do their work, transportation of crew, talent, and equipment to the middle of the bridge, remote power for powering strobes, traffic control for pedestrians and other curious onlookers. We had a medium-size crew for this shot: photographer, two assistants, hair and makeup stylists, production manager, art director.
